President Joko Widodo officially opened The 7th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2022 which was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Badung Regency, Bali Province, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. In his remarks, the President emphasized that Indonesia committed and serious in disaster risk reduction efforts.

"Disaster risk reduction is an effective investment to prevent future losses. Therefore, we affirm Indonesia's commitment to implementing the Sendai Framework as well as other international commitments," said the President in his remarks.

On that occasion, the President said that Indonesia is a country prone to disasters, such as earthquakes accompanied by tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and even forest fires. However, with various efforts, these disasters can be overcome and suppressed to a minimum.

"Indonesia is a disaster-prone country. In 2022 alone as of 23 May there have been 1,613 disasters. On average, 500 earthquakes occur in a month, both small and large scale," he said. Furthermore, the Head of State expressed his readiness to share experiences and knowledge in disaster mitigation in an effort to reduce disaster risk.

As a disaster-prone country, Indonesia has accumulated knowledge and experience that can be an important lesson for the world. However, Indonesia is also eager to learn from international experience," said the Head of State.

Present at the online event were the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri. Present in person were the Vice President of Zambia W.K. Mutale Nalumango, Coordinating Minister for Human Empowerment and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Head of BNPB Suharyanto.

Also present were UN General Assembly President Abdulla Shahid, UN Deputy Secretary General Amina Jane Mohammed, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction Mami Mizutori, and Bali Governor Wayan Koster. Presiden Joko Widodo secara resmi membuka The 7th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2022 yang digelar di Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Kabupaten Badung, Provinsi Bali, pada Rabu, 25 Mei 2022. Dalam sambutannya, Presiden menegaskan bahwa Indonesia berkomitmen dan bersungguh-sungguh dalam upaya pengurangan risiko bencana.
		
"Pengurangan risiko bencana adalah investasi yang efektif untuk mencegah kerugian di masa depan. Karena itu, kami menegaskan komitmen Indonesia untuk melaksanakan Kerangka Kerja Sendai serta komitmen internasional lainnya," ucap Presiden dalam sambutannya.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, Presiden mengatakan bahwa Indonesia merupakan negara rawan bencana, seperti gempa bumi disertai tsunami, letusan gunung berapi, bahkan kebakaran hutan. Namun dengan berbagai upaya, bencana tersebut dapat teratasi dan ditekan seminimal mungkin.

"Indonesia merupakan negara rawan bencana. Di tahun 2022 saja per 23 Mei telah terjadi bencana sebanyak 1.613. Rata-rata dalam sebulan terjadi 500 kali gempa, skala kecil maupun besar," tuturnya.Selanjutnya, Kepala Negara menyatakan kesiapannya untuk berbagi pengalaman dan pengetahuan dalam mitigasi bencana dalam upaya pengurangan risiko bencana.

ai negara rawan bencana, Indonesia mempunyai akumulasi pengetahuan dan pengalaman yang bisa menjadi pelajaran penting bagi dunia. Tapi, Indonesia juga ingin sangat ingin belajar dari pengalaman internasional," ucap Kepala Negara.

Hadir dalam acara tersebut secara daring yaitu Presiden ke-5 RI Megawati Soekarnoputri. Hadir secara langsung yaitu Wakil Presiden Zambia W.K. Mutale Nalumango, Menteri Koordinator Bidang Pemberdayaan Manusia dan Kebudayaan Muhadjir Effendy, Menteri Luar Negeri Retno Marsudi, Sekretaris Kabinet Pramono Anung, dan Kepala BNPB Suharyanto.
