Indonesian representatives abroad always promote the richness of Indonesian culture, including its culinary diversity. In carrying out cultural promotions, the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek often serves Indonesian cuisine at various bazaars, Christmas Markets, morning markets and holds various workshops on cooking Indonesian food.
The “Taste of Indonesia” workshop with Indonesian culinary expert William Wongso in 2016 was a very interesting experience for the Namibian community who participated in the workshop. This was stated by Elke Mutazdvic, manager of the Silver Spoon Hospitality Academy, when meeting with the Social and Cultural Team of the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek on Wednesday (02/02/2022).
During the meeting, Silver Spoon and the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek explored several collaborative ideas, including holding a virtual workshop between the Silver Spoon Academy and culinary schools in Indonesia to organizing the “Indonesian Evening”. Indonesian food that uses meat as raw materials, considering that the people of Namibia are very fond of meat.
The Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek is also exploring the potential of holding an Indonesian food cooking competition involving several culinary schools in Namibia. The Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek and Silver Spoon are also considering the idea of holding a Fusion Workshop on Indonesian Cuisine with local spices. Perwakilan RI di luar negeri senantiasa mempromosikan kekayaan budaya Indonesia termasuk keragaman kulinernya. Dalam menjalankan promosi budaya, KBRI Windhoek kerap kali menyajikan kuliner Indonesia di berbagai bazaar, Christmas Market, pasar pagi hingga mengadakan berbagai workshop memasak makanan Indonesia.
Workshop “Taste of Indonesia” bersama pakar kuliner Indonesia William Wongso pada tahun 2016 merupakan pengalaman yang sangat menarik bagi masyarakat Namibia yang berpartisipasi dalam workshop tersebut. Hal itu diungkapkan Elke Mutazdvic, pengelola Silver Spoon Hospitality Academy, saat bertemu dengan Tim Pensosbud KBRI Windhoek pada Rabu (02/02/2022).
Dalam pertemuan tersebut, Silver Spoon dan KBRI Windhoek menjajaki beberapa ide kerja sama, antara lain, yaitu penyelenggaraan virtual workshop antara Silver Spoon Academy dengan sekolah kuliner di Indonesia hingga penyelenggaraan “Indonesian Evening”. Dalam “Indonesian Evening” akan menjadi kesempatan masyarakat Namibia belajar memasak makanan Indonesia yang menggunakan bahan baku daging mengingat masyarakat Namibia sangat menggemari daging.
KBRI Windhoek juga menjajaki potensi penyelenggaraan kompetisi memasak makanan Indonesia yang melibatkan beberapa sekolah kuliner di Namibia. KBRI Windhoek dan Silver Spoon juga mempertimbangkan ide penyelenggaraan Workshop Fusion Masakan Indonesia dengan bumbu lokal.Sumber: KBRI Windhoek-(ras//sorana.co.id)
