SORANA-SEMARANG CENTRAL JAVA

Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia Anil Kumar Naya met with the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, at the Governor’s Office, Wednesday (9/3/2022). The Ambassador is interested in investing in Central Java, especially in the Kendal Industrial Park. “Talks between Singapore and Central Java. We’ve had investments from Singapore to Central Java for a long time. In my opinion, this (Singapore’s investment in Central Java) is still in third place,” said Anil, after meeting Ganjar.

Among what the two discussed was about Singapore’s investment plan in Kendal Industrial Park. Anil received information from the governor, currently progress in Kendal Industrial Park is also very good. There are already 69 investors there, with hundreds of workers. There is also the Furniture and Wood Processing Industry Polytechnic, which provides screening skills for the community and students who are there, so that incoming investors can get workers from the Polytechnic students.

“We had a discussion, from that momentum so that we can get more investment from Singapore and through Singapore for the Industrial Park (Kendal Industrial Park),” he concluded. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said, Singapore is serious about developing Kendal Industrial together. this park.

“Earlier, the ambassador conveyed and we welcomed it with pleasure. Because this is not just an investment for profit, but how to develop the area, including developing the community,” said Ganjar. His party asked the Kendal community to prepare themselves. For example, studying design, engineering, and learning to be a part of sales (sublicensing) at Kendal Industrial Park.

Ganjar hopes that there will be many vocational schools that can supply the required manpower. Including, being able to make a planning design for the workforce in the area, what it will look like, how much it will be, and when it will be needed. And later general recruitment can be carried out. Up to now, what has been a joint homework is about transportation infrastructure, such as ports and land transportation there.

“Essentially, goods in and out must be easy. The capacity is also large enough so that they get guarantees, yes, investment there is indeed attractive, he hoped. The next task of the government, said the governor, is to ensure easy, cheap, fast services and all parties to maintain integrity.

Head of Central Java's One Stop Integrated Services and Investment Service (DPMPTSP), Ratna Kawuri said that Singapore's investment value in Central Java was the third largest after Japan and South Korea. The largest investment (Singapore) is the housing sector, industrial estates, food industry, livestock, textiles and others.
